I put this down to the cold weather, however not sure now. The VW badge that you push in to open the boot does not go back to sitting flush anymore, it just sticks out until I push the bottom back in. Has anyone had this? Shall I just spray wd40 inside the badge?? Thanks :)

Hi Mate,
I'd be inclined to agree that this could be temperature related.
WD40 is certainly worth a try to see if it resolves the problem. If it does remember to add a lubricant based spray as WD40 is only a solvent at the end of the day.
I rarely use WD40 now as I reckon TF2 (Or similar) is the stuff to use to loosen things up but also to lubricate. ;)
Let us know how you get on mate.
p.s If you have a garage you might be better letting things warm up a little before application. Failing that (If it's really cold de-icer might be an idea first)

Given all the salt and general road dirt thrown up lately it probably just needs a good clean out, especially if it's been jet washed as this could force dirt into the mechanism, but a useful feature for when you get that rear view camera installed.

Mine has done this every winter for the last 3 years. As the weather warms up problem goes away. Never bothered to solve it, I just remeber to push it down after closing the boot.
