2.8Q ball joint replacement

Hi All,

just put my 2000 2.8Q A4 through its MOT and it needs a new o/s front lower ball joint.
I've been quoted £210 for the job, will I (should I??) get anything else done at the same time? Will this have affected the track rod ends or control arms? The tracking on the front is shot and the tyres have worn on the inside, will this be soley due to the movement in the ball joint?

I assume you mean the ball joint on the end of the control arm. The whole arm needs replacing No point chainging anything else unless you know it to be worn either of the lower control arms come off easily enough without removing anything else.

Once it has replaced take it a tyre place and get them to check/adjust the tracking.
