I have a standard key for my a4 but with no remote central locking. my battery has gone completely flat on the car and i cannot open the doors at all. Does any one know another way to get into the car without breaking anything?? thanks

It should open by key, you would then just have to open other doors from inside. Is it not that the door seals have frozen to the body?? Do the lock buttons lift when key turned to open?

had this problem with my last car

the mechanical link to lock breaks very easily on non remote c/l cars, its not a problem untill batterys flat because switch operates pump so it unlocks

jack the car up, remove undertray if fitted
on the bonnet lock there is a small peice that sticks out which you can get to from underneath with a long pokey thing and it will pop open bonnet

or

open boot and locate c/l pump (right hand corner below rear light under carpet trim)
if you remove airline you should be able pop locks if you can get pressure down it
i dont think you can blow hard enough but worth a try? using a foot or bike pump or something might work

anyway once open charge battery and cl should work again

just what i was looking for nice one. boot lock is broken so i will have to go with the first option. so even if the mechanical link is broken the central locking will work once battery is charged via the motors is that right?
