Seen some steel wheels advertised as 5 x 112 but cannot get anymore info except they came off a 1996 Audi A4 Saloon. Anybody got an idea what size they could be??? Or where I might be able to find out?? Thanks

5=5J rim,112 relates to the PCD(the size and distancing of the wheel studs)..tap 5 x 112 into a search engine..i found out the details on midlandwheels..good luck..hope its useful.Tim:beerchug:

The "5" refers to five studs, not the width of the wheel. The information you need when looking for suitable wheels for your car is diameter (eg: 16"), number of studs, and PCD (pitch circle diameter). It also helps to know the offset.

If you can get a part number then you have all the information you need!

For example my wheels are for Golf and Golf Plus and Touran
Part No 1KO601027 5/112: 6,5J x16/ ET50

Thanks both although I do know what the 5 x 112 means what I was wanting to know was what the standard wheel size was for a 1996 Audi A4 saloon. I know believe that to be 15inch so no go from my Passat B6 which needs minimum 16 inch....

If you read some of the threads relating to winter tyres you will find that some forum members are using smaller (steel) wheels than they would during the summer and getting great traction.

Have a think about it, it is only for the winter months (and 15" winter tyres are cheaper than 16"!)

Yes, but they won't fit over the brake calipers......
