My 57 reg 2.0 dsg sport 170 bhp has had a reoccuring problem which has not been sorted out by VW.
It on 54,000 miles and now just out of warranty.
Initial problems occured [under warranty] a year ago.
Since then all the injectors have been replaced [twice] the wiring loom 3 times[ one of them itself was faulty]
The exhaust output sensor.
The light still comes on [intermitantly]and when driving the computer eventually cuts out drive so I can only drive slowly [to garage]
I have to say I am really fed up that the fault has not been correctly diagnosed / fixed. Also concerned now that the car is out of warranty.
Have complained to VW head office and a case manager has been appointed to look into things but nothing seems to be progressing.
Any ideas ?:zx11::zx11::zx11:

DPF fitted -yes, not sure what you mean by the code read, but the 2 garages automatically put the fault down to injectors / wiring loom.
I do get the feeling that some of the parts they fitted were a stab in the dark and perhaps a way of making some money out of VW on the Warranty.
I should also add that there have been many other warranty issues on this car - Ipod connection [5 x] auto tailgate release, brakes, wheel bearing.

All the best

That could be it y'know, if you don't get the chance to regen properly you will be driving around with a spud up the zorst, best way to clear it is a 25 mile run at 65mph, above and it won't happen because the engine will rely on pressure to shift it, you need the fluid squirting in as well to regen properly.

Sounds like your dealer is an assumer rather than a diagnoser if they've replaced £3k of injectors already, other process will be to reject the car, this will depend on how long you've owned it, and also if it's on finance this helps because the lender ain't supposed to lend on faulty goods.

UPDATE
the dealership has replaced a sensor valve in the exhaust system [this has already been replaced once under warranty]
VW [Head office / customer services] have have been very slow to investigate the problem and after they told me that they would only contribute 40 % of cost I went up the wall.
a] I was not prepared to pay anything as this was a condition that existed B4 warranty ran out and
b] I wanted them to get to the bottom of the problem to ensure that this problem would not arise again. How can I sell this car if the light keeps coming on, what if next time they say it's another item at fault for which I will have to pay say £500 again and again?
I asked if they had discussed technical issues with the dealership and on return they admitted that the dealers had not provided full information about diagnostic test results - that they were not aware of the repeat problems ? !
I said this was critical as clearly the diagnostic results were pointing at the wrong solutions.
Even a member of staff at the dealers admited that they were not confident that the problem was solved - that they were just following the VW manuals.
Just now they have got back to me and said that their final offer wou8ld be 20 % [£85] and they said the dealers want payment and their courtesy car back.
I told them I was still not happy, would not accept their offer and would now seek legal advice.
So can anyone offer any advice ? I am going to try a get an appointment with the Citizens advice bereau but is my issue with VW or the VW dealership ?
I bought the car from a VW dealership second hand - they have now gone out of business.

when you say engine management light do you mean the engine symbol. If so I had an intake flap fail on mine diagnosed by local indy and that solved it.

Also I have had heating issues and since this was replaced the heating is now OK.
