Concert stereo - comes on on by default, how do I change it?

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to change how the Concert stereo in my S-Line Avant behaves when the ignition is turned on? Currently the stereo comes on by default, playing the last setting, ie: radio station, sd card etc.

I want it to be off by default, so that I don't wake my baby boy when he's asleep!

Any ideas?

I'm sure mine remembers the 'last state'.

If I turn the iginition off then turn the radio off then the radio will remain turned off next time I start the car.

Yes, if you turn the stereo off before you turn off the ignition then it will stay off.

If you touch the button once, it will just mute the stereo not turn it off....... then when you next start the car it comes on at normal volume.

to turn the stereo off, push and hold the button until the screen goes blank and displays the graphic "Audi Infotainment System"......... then it will stay off.

Took me a while to catch on to the difference between mute and off...........!

Can you screen be turned off completely when the radio is off? At night the audi logo screen is quite bright and sometimes I would prefer that it stays off completely but if I hold down the power button when turning it off it goes black and then comes back on again a few seconds later :banghead:

On mine if you press the 'setup' button then the bottom left corner MMI soft key 'display' there is an option to set the screen brightness or turn if off.

Sorry to revive this thread but just got my B8.'
Is there any way to keep the infotainment logo screen off permanetly. The last tip needs to be done every time the car is used.

Short answer, no!

However, if you dim down the dash lights (next to the lightswitch) then is also dims the logo screen down too.......... it can get a bit bright!
