3.0tdi Tyres ??

Could someone please verify what make of tyres Audi are putting on new A4 Avants 3.0tdi Quattro, with 245 40 18inch tyres. :)

Not sure about the 18" but the 19" are coming with P zeros or Dunlop Sport Max GTs that I am aware of. Also Contis but I am not sure which ones.

I have done some further reading and think i may go for some Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. Not sure that they are Audi fitment, but I am sure will do the job very nicely :)

I went for Pilot Sport 3s when the Bridgestone RE050As it came with wore out. They weren't cheap but I'm very happy with them - I find the PS3s to be streets better in the wet and much less prone to tramlining. They also wear much better - I got through the Bridgestones in only 16,000 miles despite most of that being motorway driving but it looks like I should get well into the twenties with the PS3s.

The only minor downsides are that they don't seem quite so sticky as the Bridgestones on a smooth dry road (probably due to a harder compound) and are slightly noisier. Both of these are minor niggles though and ones which I haven't thought about since the day they were put on.
