One out of how ever many bulbs have gone on my 3rd brake light (The one on the boot lid glass).
I've not had time get out there and take a look at it (it’s too dark, to wet) yet and I’ve been searching but can't find much info on it.

Can anyone confirm if they are bulbs or LEDs in that brake light and the best way to take it down to fix it?

Hi Axios. Is yours an Avant? If so, then this is how to do it. Open the tailgate and pull off the trim around the 3rd brake light . It's tight so you'll have to be firm - but not too firm! You only need to remove enough so that you can get to the one cross-head screw that holds the assembly. Loosen the screw then slide the whole assembly to your right to release the catch. The bulbs (not LED) are push fit capless 286X 12V 2.3W. I got mine on Amazon - just search for the description - they're £8.95 for 10 - don't think you'll get them in ********* but could be wrong.
Hope that helps.

I go to it and replaced the bulbs but every time i touched one, one more went out.
dodgy connection.
Every time i shut the boot one would go off or another one would go on.
I think i might replace the bulbs and fit some LEDs at some points.

Thanks for the instructions. :)

I had the same problem with mine. I replaced all the bulbs - not just the ones which had blown, made sure they were all pushed in properly and it worked fine. Be careful that you're notpushing the bulbs in too far - I found that if I did, the connection was dodgy. If you find a suitablt LED replacement, can you let us know where/how much please?

Not a problem.
I'll do a right up.
might be interesting to others.

I need to find a spare light first. :)

I found these worked well in the original holders.

but have since rewired the cluster to take some red led's instead.

I've replaced all my bulbs with LED's from ebay, cost £3.50 for 10 inc delivery.

Ebay item number is: 120552148332

As LED's only light up with current flowing in one direction I had to take a few back out and refit 180 degrees around but they're all good.

Cheers,
