Hi

Probably been asked a thousand times but what sort of mpg can I expect on the A6 3.0 tdi quattro doing mainly motorway miles?

Thanks

That does sound a little optimistic. I had a loan 3.0 Quattro for a while and got low-mid 30's with steady motorway driving and this thread sort of confirms same.

Should say it was an auto/tiptronic, not manual

Not really. It's what I calculated for the 10k I put on my 3.0TDI tip. Always managed low 40's on a long motorway run at 70-80mph, droppped into the 30's with traffic/higher speeds.

Town driving I usually get 25-29mpg and on the motorway about 33-38 mpg.

Bought an 07 3.0 Quattro Tiptronic in September, and get 40-42 mpg on long journeys (and 45 mpg if I keep it to 70) - Amazing!

low 40s in winter, mid 40s in the summer. Manual 3.0 tdi. 2005 saloon.
