Yesterday I bought a 2005 A3 1.9tdi SE 5dr manual.
Whilst the car had its service handbook and its radio user guide, there was no general owner's manual - maybe the previous owner lost it, who knows!
However, having spent a while in the car, I'm now pretty certain I know what all the switches, buttons, and other controls do, how the seats adjust, fold, etc, etc.
My question is: is it worth spending some £30 (less small change) on an Owner's Handbook? i.e. is there anything really important in the handbook that I actually need to know?
Thanks!

In my opinion i think its best to have one. I know my car very well and always owned A3's. I still find it helpful because there are some things i need to refer to. It contains important information like were certain fuses go in the electrics compartment and you may need to diy oneday there or have a friend over to do it for you but needs the book to refer back. Also replacing bulbs, etc. If you brought the car from audi let them know and they will rustle one up for you. It also contains a complete list of fualt warnings, etc. You could try ebay? Just make sure its relevent to your model year.

Thanks for this - I'm trying a former work colleague who is now at VeeDub, MK to see if they can access a softcopy version. Car was not from an Audi dealer but if it comes to it, now I know it's worth the effort, I may have to bite the financial bullet and buy one from Audi - if I can't get one on ebay that is!

My contact at VeeDub MK has exhausted all routes of enquiry within VAG - he's come to the conclusion that if a PDF softcopy of the subject 2005 year handbook does exist it must be in a basement filing room, behind a locked door bearing the warning "Beware of the leopard"... and on this advice I have forked out £28 (plus P&P) in fleebay's fine digital emporium.
