A trip to the local dealership or auto locksmith with vagtacho is what you're going to be needing I'm afraid. IF you were local, I could have helped

Yep, as Esh said, all immobilisers have a Secret Key Code (SKC) which you can only get from a main dealer, or from the immobiliser itself using a product like vag-tacho.

You could try looking in the "diagnostics software - user locations" section for someone near you, or try looking for an auto locksmith nearby who might be able to help.

From this page, click the second button from the top http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/applied/misc/hdr_nav_forum.gif

Then scroll about half way down to the Technical - Diagnostic Equipment ONLY link: http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=264

There are two sections here: VCDS (vag-com) and "Other", but it seems that most vag-tacho stuff gets put in with the VCDS section.

Then you can use the "Search This Forum" link to search for vag tacho.

There doesn't seem to be that much on vag-tacho in here - most people don't need it unless they've done something like replacing their ecu / immobiliser / dashboard.

There are a few forum sponsors who might be able to help:

http://www.dashwarninglights.co.uk in London - they don't say they do coding, but might be able to help

http://www.lostcarkeyco.co.uk are a bit far away in Yorkshire - Esh is just as close

Alternatively, a quick google shows up http://www.auto-locksmiths.com/index.php who cover your area.
