Audi Coupe 20V 1991 alarm problem

please help as i have a problem with my alarm system, I cannot switch it off!! i have had to disconnect the battery to silence the damn thing. the remote shows a red led when pressed, but nothing else happens apart from the alarm going off.:1zhelp:

hello and welcome. i dont think your car came with an alarm, so its difficult to give suggestions, apart from finding the control unit and disconnecting it, or finding the manufacturer and let us know what it is.

hi, thanksfor the response. however, it is factory fitted, an option maybe. can you give me an idea as to where the control unit is and i will check the manufacturer.
