Hi

Whilst playing with VCDS in my new 2007 Audi A3 1.9 TDI Sport Sportback, I looked at the diag page where you can monitor the boost pressure as actual and specified. It showed my car was producing 970mbar while it should of been producing 1100 mbar at IDLE. this gap is the same all the way up to redline. Is there any easy way to fix this problem, i.e the hoses has a hole in them, or could the turbo be on its way out. Also a glowplug has gone on cyclinder 4, Anybody got a diagram of which is cyclinder 4, or is just a case of me getting a multimeter and finding the dead plug?

Any answers will help

Regards

Adam

You will only get about 1000mBar at idle and about 1250mBar under raised idle boost control checking, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Replace all four glow plugs, number 4 is the one next to the gearbox.

Hi
I will replace the 4 glow plugs started the A3 at 5pm here and its 3.5 degrees c, sounds rough until it warms up. Found the glow plug locations next to the oil dip stick, looks quite easy change.

Thanks

Adam
