The car is a 1994 1.8 Vento automatic with single point fuel injection. I have owned the car for 13 years and have never had a starting problem. The car has been standing for about 6 weeks.
It started it with some difficulty and the engine was rough when driven.
Fuel gauge was low so I put about 8 litres petrol in the tank. Car then started reluctantly but was still rough.
Now the car will now not start at all. It will fire very occassionally when turning over but it is a very faint fire, more of a grumble. After turning over the engine for some time I removed the spark plugs and they were dry. There is a good spark at the plugs.
I am assuming it is a fuel problem rather than ignition.
It could be something simple like the fuel filter is blocked, looking at it from the outside it looks as though it has never been changed, I certainly have not changed it and it would appear that the garage has not changed it either.
Can anyone tell me the easiest way to find out if the fuel is getting to the fuel injector.
Also can anyone tell me where the ecu is located, and if there is a socket anywhere for a digagnostic check.
Thankyou
Jon
