Should i buy?

Hey everyone,

Just looking at a nice 2008 a4 1.8t fsi, my only doubt is the last of power, its 120bhp.

My question is why are some versions of this model 160bhp is it to do with the turbo? ifso can the 120bhp get the 160bhp's turbo fitted?

So back to original question, should i buy it? Apart from the power it is a great car in immaculate condition.

Hi Andrew,
It's hard to say as everything depends on what you are expecting and especially what sort of car you are used to. Personally I can tell you that my old A4 B6 1.9 TDi 130 ps saloon accelerated faster from 0 - to 60 Mph than my current B8 2.0 TDi 170 ps Avant, which is a much heavier kind of beast.
You might also want to consider that the 1.8 FSI is the entry level engine and therefore it could also be more difficult to resell.
As far as your technical query is concerned, honestly I can't give you a proper answer, but I would expect a few things to be different on the TFSI in addition to the turbo, such as pistons and the brakes.

Have a look at the ABT website, chipping AND tuning can get the BHP of a 120 model way beyond what you would think! But its pricey!
