Hi Guys,

Car: Audi A6 2.0 TDI S LINE, 2006

Concern: When i start the car up and the car is at rest, the idle is bit under "1", but then revs starts going a little up and down by itself.

When i drive off and about and im at rest at traffic lights the revs dosent go up and down. Maybe a little shudder i can feel in the seat.

What can this be. Its really annoying.

Ive just bought the car a few weeks ago and had a intermittent service done (oil and filter).

I appreciate any help and advice you guys give

cheers, Sak

Some further information: cars is 140bhp, and in 1st gear the car dosent pick up that well but is ok once im in 2nd. i have to put my foot down a little heavy for the car to pick up in 1st. Is this normal?

I feel the ride could be abit smoother than it is.

My next question is what can i do to increase the power/smoothness without re-mapping it or is re-mapping the way to go?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, this is normal. Audi introduced it into the mapping to reduce the load on the DMF in first gear. People who have had their cars remapped report that first-gear pull away is improved.

Cheers!

Thanks MF,

any ideas to the idle. i believe the terminology is rough idling. A mechanic friend is suspecting air flow issues, such as a crack in the air flow pipe, or carbonised flap of some sort thats under air filter.

Any ideas guys?

Also im going to speak to the trader. A friend who is also a dealer said by law they have to give 6 months warranty and because its not a wear and tear issue the dealer should take alook into it. What do you guys think?

Cheers

Sak
