Help & advice wanted - A3 engine cutting out

Hi, I'm looking for some advice about a problem with my A3 1.6FSI petrol 07 reg 24k miles.

The engine is firing up without problems, but when I pull away in 1st or reverse the engine cuts out. If I can get it going it's then ok and doesn't cut out again when I stop and put in neutral. It doesn't do it all the time but today it took 4 attempts to get going.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

Fault code read would be a good place to start

Had it checked over thoroughly by Audi, no fault codes showing and they couldn't find anything wrong. Seems to have corrected itself as well as the problem hasn't happened for 2 weeks now.

A bit strange but good its had a clean bill of health!

I'm getting this same problem again - engine cutting out when setting off in 1st or reverse. No fault codes showing.

Any other ideas from anyone of what it could be?
