I have a 2008 A6 Avant 2.0 Petrol TFSI. It's done 26,000 miles. It has used over 7 litres of oil since I bought it (over the last 10,000 miles), i.e. averaging about 1350 miles per litre.
Has anyone else experienced such a large oil consumption?
Seems excessive to me. Any ideas?

Hi
That would seem a little high in my opinion!
I have a 2007 2.0 TDI (granted, not the same as yours) - which uses one litre every 10000 miles.
Perhaps others will reply with their experiences.

have a word with the dealers there is a calculation they use for oil consumption by measuring the oil by weight i think but that does seem high worth a phone call if not i might be able to get it for you..................................

You appear to be quite lucky, I have a 2.4 petrol and it uses a litre per 900-1000 miles. I have asked Audi and they say it's within limits and not entirely unexpected.

The dealer will not even look at it unless it is more than 1 litre per 1000 miles.

The 1.9 TDi A4 I used to have never supped a drop, but my current 2.0 TDI A6 goes from full to empty (ie the computer bongs at me) in about 7k miles.

hi
i have A5 Cab, 2.0L petrol
using 1L every 600 miles
audi in coventry where i bought it said its normal
audi in poole, where i live say NOT normal
there appears to be an Audi Wolrdwide problem and they are trying to find a FIX, they say its "blocked Breathers", no idea what they are??
they say it only affects A5 Cab, seems non sense to me, as surely a 2L engine is a 2L engine whether its in an A3,A4 or A5.
still in "negotiations" with Audi, i will keep you informed.........

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. My local Audi dealer would not take my word for it, so did a check on my oil consumption, and confirmed that I was using just over 1/3 litre per thousand kilometers. As this was within manufacturer's tolerance (1/2 litre per 1,000 K) they said there was no problem. They said the new turbo engines run hotter so use more oil. Meanwhile I've found a local source for Quantum longlife oil at £5 litre which is a lot cheaper than £16 + litre for Castrol SLX.

Do tell. Is this TPS or someone else? Do you have to buy a certain amount.
