Any good anyone?

Got a quote and are pretty competitive. (think they use highway insurance as the underwriter)

After some reviews please?

Cheers

Never had to claim off them (thats when you find out if it is a good deal or not) but they have been easily cheapest for OHs Passat Sport for the last few years - and last year they were the cheapest with the standard renewal so no need to barter them down.

Use 'em for the 'Sud, but that's classic car cover, i.e.limited mileage, no NCD, agreed value, etc.

Highway is the underwriter for that. Highway is a Liverpool Vic.subsidiary these days. Have used Liverpool Vic.directly for the daily drive for some years now as has SWMBO. Always competitive at renewal.

Have never had cause to claim against either which is when it really counts.

Just had my next renewal through from Chris Knott - and its still a better deal than anything I can get on the net either direct or via Go Compare The Meerkat.com. That`ll be three years on the bounce - something of a record.

I'm with admiral atm, i pay £140 a month, 21, 3 years driving, 2 years NCB, no claims made though, but 3 points (SP30). My friend lives down the road, is 22, 3years driving 2 years NCB, 5 points(including carelss/reckless driving), and he insures his clio sport 172 for £170 per month. When I asked about insuring a clio 172 that was for sale, my best quote was in excess of £3000.

How do insurance companys decide on the cost as It really gets up my nose. I got a sensible car for ferrying friends, family, and my dog about and I get **** turpin-ed.

Can any representive for Chris Knott get in touch or reply as to how that works out? It really dosnt seem fair.

Hi
I've often been asked this in all the years i've worked here, and when i did the comparison quotes there were always factors which would radically change the 2 quotes but without knowing the full details of both it's hard for me to say on here.

I would say that your friend is 22 whilst you are 21 which, with us, would allow your friend to be on our scheme whereas not you, potentially saving him hundreds of pounds off his quote.

I will get in touch next year, but my dillema is that I'm 22 in June, and my insurance renewal is in April. Would you be able to help me out in anyway? All I've heard is good things about your company and would like to see if you could help me.. My car is my pride and joy, obv I'm an enthusiast, and also own another VW that I would hopefully like to have on the road next year aswell.

I used Chris Knott to insure my last Passat for a couple of years and they were very competitive. I never had to make a claim, though.

My current Passat is a company car, so I don't have to worry about the insurance, fortunately.

I think it's certainly worth a call.

I've been with Direct Line for a number of years now, always re-insuring every year as a "first time buyer", avoiding the HIKE which comes with your friendly insurance charity sending you that letter saying, "Do nothing, we automatically renew your insurance". Aye, right. They bung 40% onto your premium.

I insured my new 2.0 CR for £128.45 fully comp (350 excess) - using comparison websites some of those crooks wanted 500 brick from me.

Yes, I know there are other insurance companies out there and I'm not recommending DL to anyone, but I've always believed in dealing with companies direct, no middle men, no agents, no brokers.

OK, here's my freaking rant...

When I lived in the beeg ceety, I never made an insurance claim, neither on house nor car. Premiums were £X. When I moved out to the sticks, insurance premiums more than halved.

Why was I penalised because of my postcode and not treated as an individual?

lies, damned lies and statistics.

insurance is not for 'customers', it's a guard against statistically based risk, the higher the risk, the higher the insurance.
