Hi Just noticed brake fuid dripping on the road.
Discovered I have a crack on what looks like the black plastic section at the back where I assume the electric piston is.
Here is a photo to show you the section I am talking about. You may be able to make out the crack.

The car brakes work as normal and wondered if the casing seperates from the main caliper so I can perhaps seal the crack in some way while I wait for a replacement?
I have VCDS to open the capilers etc so hoping there is some way I can do this myself.
Absolutely any input here greatly appreciated indeed!
Thanks

You shouldn't leak brake fluid even with the plastic motor housing taken off. It certainly shouldn't be leaking now. Are you sure it is brake fluid and are you sure it is not from a pipe or the caliper.

Hi Martin thanks for the reply.
I've checked all over the caliper and pipes and it's all dry apart from this photo'd section (motor) When I wiped it with a cloth you can clearly see a crack and fuid oozing out of it.
Fluid reservoir is almost empty so know it's brake fluid.
So can the motor part be seperated fairly easy enough to see what's happening?
Thanks again!

The motor unbolts and pulls off. Then you will see where the motor drive goes into the caliper. The caliper has a seal so it shouldn't leak. Sounds like something odd has happened to yours. You may have to replace the whole thing. Not cheap at £500

Oh dear
Seems perhaps maybe the seal has gone between the motor and caliper forcing fluid into the motor and bursting the casing.
That being the case litte I can do to but to replace it I suppose.
Thanks again for the input Martin!

Thanks for that currently shopping around for one.
I take it changing the caliper is pretty straight forward if you've already changed the pads before with VDCS etc?
Anything awkward I should know about do you reckon?
Does the electric connector on the motor come off easy enough?
Thanks again

If you've got VCDS then the rest is just bolts. Undo the the connector, undo the brake pipe, unbolt the caliper and your done. If you want, you can take the motor off first. It's no different to a normal caliper swap. If you want more info, send me an e-mail address and I'll send you some. Also if you buy a new caliper without exchange, can I have your old one. I will pay to have it sent to me. I would like to strip one and put the photo's on my web site.
