Heya peeps.

Ive got myself a MK3 as a little project. Was only £300 and new it had a few issues to sort BUT the body work was fine so I thought Y not? WELL....

After replacing the Rad (cos it was well leaky), Distributor (faulty hall sensor), Cap, Arm, Leads, Plugs, Coolant Temp Sensor, Cat, Lamba, Air filter and some oil breather piping as well as degreasing most of the air intake system, the emissions are still VERY HIGH! CO% is 10.6! Computer pics up no faults. Also ive pressure checked each cylinder and all are good.

Its a 1.6 8v AFT engine. 190k on the clock.

On idle it sounds nice. Put ur foot down and the take of struggles! Gets to about 3k rpm and she takes off fantasticaly!

Im at a total loss now and im eating into my pocket with parts so if any1 has any ideas or if ive missed an obvious fix pleeeeeeeease let me know.

Cheers :)

P.S Hope this is the right section to put this.

Have you tested your sparks/leads for the ignition coil operation?

I assume youve got a new air filter, short of that you could see what the cat is like as a guess. They only have a limited lifetime, and im guessing most mk3s are pushing 100k at the youngest now. So worth checking out all the same.

Ignition operation is all good. Air filter and Cat are both brand new. PLugged into VAGCOM 2day and it found a fault with the NEW lambda. Possibly a faulty unit. Will replace 2mrw and post results :)

Make sure you get a genuine one, its £70 but the other makes have had some problems or dont last as long

Well I FINALLY got the new Lambda in and no difference :( Think the only thing left now is the ECU.
