volkswagen can, and they did. if thats what you want, then buy one of their ready converted ones, as it would be soooo much less bother. in fact, theres not much the same between the two, not even the engines.

"Never build a car you can buy"
It's possible - anything is if you throw enough money at it - but it IS madness.
Goold luck with the conversion, please continue to post as I'd love to see how much cash you can pour in!!

Nooo I know it's possible, I had my 1 litre Corsa converted to a 2 litre turbo! :P
What I mean is I can't find anyone who will do VW's! At a good price, didn't think VW would do it, however if they do they have to be massively expensive? I can get the engine for £1000. So I just need a fitting price now, as don't know about all the wiring looms etc.
Anyone know who can do this for me?

Its never been done as far as I know, no-one has enough money to waste!
You wont get "a good price" on this conversion as its not popular (at all) so no company has experience of it, hence the time taken (and parts required) are unknown - hence no-one can quote on it (at sensible money)
Where can you buy a CR engine for £1k?! What about all the other parts attached to the engine, everything is different including the fuel system. The wiring loom is completley different.
Companies like http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/ do engine conversions, but really they focus on popular conversions like the 1.8T etc
You must be mad if you go ahead with this, (as well as a DSG conversion!) You'll end up spending as much the cost of a CR Passat. Please keep posting with how much spend if you start this though!!

Tom, you can't buy a PD engine for less than 5k, a CR is going to be more, then you need an ECU, then you need all the ABS etc programmed to it, and should you want DSG, that's 5k plus fitting, I'd say if you did it, you'd be looking at £10k and then it would probably play up afterwards, now, do the sensible thing, buy a Highline and swap the seats and wheels.

Mileage and injectors...?
And CR engine would be a used engine with approx. 10k on!!
