Hi,

I know I am not the first to ask this question, but has anyone managed to get hold a dipstick for the 2.0 Tfsi? (a part no. would be useful)

Had my car a couple of months, and so far the MMI display seams to show different reading (almost like it is picking reading from the air). On one ocasion while following the hand book and using the MMI I sat in the car and watched the level go from full to half to full etc.

This has not given me much confidence in this system, so finding the correct dipstick would be the best option, I can't believe that Audi don't have one for the B8 A4 Tfsi. But asking at different dealers and independant places no one has heard of one.

After spending a small fortune getting the A4 that I wanted, I can't believe that Audi don't have such a simple part for such a complex car.

Sorry for the rant.:aargh4:

Regards

Dave.

I take it his mod is for the B8 2.0 Tfsi, as there is no mention of this. Even the ECS web site has not listed the model of the B8 this dipstick is for.

I am surprised if there is just one that fits all the engines in the range, anyone else done this mod and can confirm that it works.

Thanks for the link very interesting reading.

Dave.

I'm sure this was discussed recently, either here or on another forum. Have you had a search? Sorry, but i'm sure the only solution was Audi!! And it wasn't cheap. I'll have a search myself and get back to you.....

Dear DP24V,
Please bear with me there IS a solution out there.
First let me say I was so ****** when it was discovered there was not a dip stick added to the A4B8, and many forums did reflect this. But that was all that happened, everyone just complained, curled up and went to sleep ( OH Humm).
Like many others I searched and never did quite find a dip stick for my A4b8 (2010) 2.0L Quattro ( petrol). I knew what it looked like from Elsawin and ERwin, but everything being posted as a dip stick did not reflect the real dip stick.
Audi is very reluctant to offer a dip stick for various reasons ( see a previous post), The generic dip stick is used for about five or six different engine designs, calibrated to suit the particular model in question.
By luck I purchased one via Ebay ( Aust). It was a knock off ( I am sure) from Korea, but for all intentional purposes it was the same as that shown on Erwin. I have not seen another for sale.

Thank you for staying with me, will I had my bitch.

I am an old fella so getting pictures to you will challenge me.
The good news is it is quite easy to make. You require a piece of metal or something sturdy and flexible, about 3 mm X 1 mm X about 600 mm long.
A pin or stop is required at or near one end ( so as not to have the metal fall into the dip stick chamber). I will give you the dimensions from the stop pin to the top and low oil marks ( later). to verify this measurement check with the onscreen display (I found my calibration out a little compared to that indicated by ERwin).
I do not know just how lucky you may be finding a dipstick to purchase, I just was not prepared to curl up and go to sleep.
I have seen a number of posts in regard to indifferent oil level readings and this worried me, or it used too.
If you would like to make one I would be happy to provide what information I have available.
Best wishes
John
