:zx11: i have a 1995 audi A4 1.8 petrol. i have owned this car since virtually new. a few years ago, it developed an erratic idle only when stationary, the engine would 'hunt' for a few seconds then would settle to a comfortable idle. i had the throttle body cleaned and the car ran like new. more recently, it developed this same fault and i took it back to the same garage and they cleaned the throttle body out again, however, it did cure the slightly erratic idle when stationary but now when it is idling , it is much lumpier on idle than when it went into the garage!!!it also seems to idle at about 900rpm?? i'm sure it was idling at about 700 to 800rpm previously. on the motorway, it seems responsive enough even on overtakes and the fuel consumption hasn't changed BUT this lumpy idle that started as soon as i got the car back, is really annoying me!!!! Anyone any ideas before i take the car back to this garage.. Does the throttle body have to be set to some sort of basic settings if the throttle body is removed for cleaning?
also, now , when i start it up first thing in the morning, the auto choke obviously kicks in but now it only seems to rev upto about 1200rpm, i'm sure it was a lot more than this on idle??
Help!!!!!:aargh4:
