i recently had a new air con compressor fitted to my car! the next morning driving to work it jerked as i accelorated then sort of went into a safe mode with no turbo power, wen i stopped the engine was also ticking quite bad??? i took to the garage i brought it from 2 years previous who checked it on the computer.
the fault was an engine mount sensor this was checked and reset but the problem never went away. they kept the car for 2 weeks with no joy even an audi tech said he never heard anything like this? i ended up just collecting the car as i was told there was nothing they could do??? can anyone help?? thanks

i dont know wat codes and they didnt replace the mount just reset the system! its still in limp mode they checked oil pressure which is fine as it sounds like there isnt any oil in it? ive read up about a comman fault with the timing gear? i will try and find out the codes etc etc thanks mate

I would certainly check the timing and the cambelt, get a full description of all the codes stored.

found the reason! some of the old belt that hadnt been removed jammed the crankshaft pulley and made the belt slip but only 2 teeth on 1 cam!! the timing has now been put right and it seems there aint any more problems! :-)

that was lucky then. if it had slipped much more, the bill could have been immense.

well the garage who put it right are sayin it could of damaged some roller things on the cam shafts and would have to remove the head to replace at a cost of like £1500 but im hoping on it aint done any damage! it dont sound any different to me but they are sayin its not sounding happy ?? hmmm not sure

if you are happy with it, then just put some gentle miles on it and see how it goes. if it gets noisey, take it back again and see what they think.
