Hello All,

My good for nothing mechanic took my car 2 weeks ago to fix a squeak coming from the belts at idle when turning.
He replaced the tensioner pulley damper and all the belts.
I have now got the car back and it is still squeaking! plus my air bag light stays on all the time, I think this is from where the bumper was removed to gain access to the pulleys and belts.
Can anyone help? when is the plug for the air bag sensor and is it something I can just re connect? As for the squeak? any thoughts?
Thanks

Hi.

The air-bag light can only be turned off with diagnostic equipment, even
if it is all connected. It will also tell you where it is/was disconnected.

The squeak could be a faulty alternator pulley.

Don't go back to snake belly!! :bandit:

Regards
Jim

I wont tell you how much he is trying to charge me!!!

Do you know if the alternator pulley is easy to change? or is it another small fortune in a garage?

Thanks

OK, new question, does anyone know or have a step by step guide to removing the front of the car for "service mode" and changing the fan and alternator pulley?

Also is anyone near hampshire with a computer so I can find out whats wrong with the bloody air bag light! It makes me nervous when driving at "motorway" speeds!!

Thanks

You dont need to remove the front of the car to get at the alternator,a new pulley is about sixty quid, take it to any garage to replace the pulley then refit.
