Hi, I have just replaced the passenger side wiper blade as it was leaving a patch on the screen that would not clear in rain. After 2 weeks trying to get the right type at a local factors (wrong type first).

After replacing the wiper I noticed the same problem. So I tuned the Ignition off mid wipe and noticed that the wiper is about 2mm from the screen just below the centre point on the blade and around 15cm long.
I have tried both of the replacement wipers in the pack both in separate sleeves in the pack marked passenger and driver and no difference. The screen is level without being warped (Long shot but worth checking).

I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem as although it is not directly in front of me when driving it is quite annoying and it draws your eyes to it. I've checked for play at the bottom of the arm and all seems fine. The spring seems ok aswell and has the same amount of resistance as the drivers side.
Any help would be apppreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure that the whole wiper mech is not moving?

I've had a look when the wipers are on and they look ok to me and there is no play when still and I try to move them. I am thinking of getting the old style wipers and trying them not sure if I can get the older style with my fitment see pic.
Is there anywhereI shoud be looking for movement ie. up and down movement or if I can adjust the arms somehow?

watch the movement of the blade across the screen and ensure contact is made evenly. Actually whilst you're there, make sure no one is watching you or they'll think you're on something funny :biglaugh:

If its lifting, bend the wiper arm slightly to increase pressure on the screen. HTH

I think the neighbours are used to me messing about with the car outside the house lol.
I have watched the arm and it seems to move in a smooth motion I did think about bending it but wasn't sure was hoping someone may have had another solution.

I have similar problem on a Golf. I believe it to be a slightly bent wiper arm. In trying to bend the wiper arm back, it seems to have made it worse. Gonna try and get a new one or one from a scrappers.

Problem solved!

I Bent the wiper blade at the point where it was missing the screen and twisted the wiper arm slightly as it looked slightly out of shape. I did notice earlier that there is a very small patch that the blade is missing but nothing that a bit more flexing of the blade won't sort out.

Cheers for all the replies
