A few q's on my new Avant..........

Hi Folks,
Can anyone help with the following ?

(1998 R plate 1.9tdi Avant, 110K)

Need a centre cap for what seems to be pretty rare wheels - only found them here :

Anyone know where I can get hold of one ?

Best source for a rear wheel bearing ? Go OEM or not ?

Car seems to steam up inside quite badly - any ideas - pollen filter perhaps ?

Hell of a clunk from top of rear drivers side suspension - common fault ? Any ideas what part ?

Lower section of controls - heater does not illuminate - again any pointers ?

Overall however she is a winner, used to have a standard A4 n plate 1.9tdi and an 80 Cabby - should never have sold them, one went due to growing family the other a dual mass flywheel decided to become a multiple part flywheel........

Hey dude,
Afraid I'm pretty clueless and cant help much! All I can say is that mine steams up a lot and my pollen filter is new, so dont reckon its got anythign to do with that!

The steaming up may well be a pinhole leak in the heater matrix. I tried some of this from Halfords in mine and it worked wonders. no never steams up. Has done nothing to the rad or other coolant pipes - i've had them off and checked.

Its the holts rad weld plus. If your near scunthorpe i have a spare one.

For the center caps, try Audi or keep an eye on ebay.

I can't see ebay in work, so can't comment on the wheels.
but the best place to get a car from would be Audi.

hows the carpets?
Are they wet or damp?
check the water drain plugs under the battery, break servo and the water way under the ECU box. If any of them are blocked up, it can cause water to leak in to the cab.

Check cables and fuses. any other lights not lighting up?
inside the car or out side the car?
