Hi all im new here.

Done a search and cant find the inffo im after,i have a A4 avant 1.9tdi 130 BHP i like the car but thought it was lacking in power, hence i was gona get rid begining of next year and buy another with more go about it.

But the wife went and got her self up the duff!!:D

So thats that out the window,i have a 2.5 180 turbo unit,i was thinking of putting it in and a bigger front mount intercooler and then get it mapped.

BUT! the 2.5 T unit is 4 bolts and the 1.9tdi enging flange is 3 bolts, does anyone know of someone doing this before? and how did they go about solving the turbo fitting problem? a flange adapter is needed does anyone know there is anyone that can make one/them?

All input welcome.

Cheers Scott.

You can get a flange made up and weld that to a manifold of your choice...The flanges are available to buy on ebay just search for t25 turbo flanges...like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/T2-T25-T28-GT28-TURBO-WELD-FLANGE-STEEL-4-BOLT-/250665958202?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a5cdafb3a

You might find that the turbo wont fit too well against the chassis leg so you will need to mount the turbo at an angle and make shure you clock-it so the oil feed is at the top. The actuator does not matter much as long as it has a smooth operation. Kerma.tdi (do a google search) used to sell a cast/tubular manifold to fit ANY 8 valve VAG engine but it was a bit pricey. After a while i've seen a similar manifold for sale on german ebay but lost the link... I suggest you buy a scrap manifold and practice on that first as most likely the swap will give-you some headache. Also there is a chap in here mikkyjaine or so ( he used to have a v6 tdi quattro audi a6 ) wich swapped a 1.9 tdi AFN lump to his a6 quattro. Its a good ideea to send him a pm and ask for a few pictures. He is on audi sport net and also on tdi club. Google either if you have no success to get trough to him...

Many thanks again Adam for the info,i will check it out.

I have a guy that knows a lot more about it than me going to do the work,he has said it will need to placed diffrently, but he can work out what way best to do that before making the adapter to suit the position.
