Hi chaps,

I have a 2004 2.0l Tdi sport & would like to fit an aftermarket HID kit to my dipped beam.

I have fitted a kit to my E39 BMW without any problems but was wondering if anyone has fitted a set & if they have had any issues with the "bulb out" warning.

Bulb out warning is the least of the problems.

Aftermarket non-OEM HID lights continually blow the wiper motor !

You may not understand why, and neither do I, but they do it anyway !

Check out this thread on another forum :- http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/new-a3-s3-sportback-8p-chassis/104640-thinking-some-aftermarket-headlight.html

Ah I See. I did do a search on here & a chap was fitting them & saying there was no problems connected to the wiper motor.

I guess the only way to fit them is to bypass the main light switch & module.

Presumably you checked the other forum thread, particularly the post regarding the illegality of retro fit non OEM headlights did you ?

Yes Im aware of that but to be honest my wife being able to see when she's driving in poor light comes before stupid laws which prevent us from added saftey..

That's fine - just make sure you have the self-levelling and washing equipment in place as well, otherwise you could cause oncoming traffic to have an accident.

And, more importantly in your case, your wife could cause it and be involved !

Be responsible :Blush2:
