A4 Auto gearbox oil Top up

2000 A4 1.9 TDi Auto:- I have renewed transmission oil cooler pipes which were leaking due to corrosion. I cannot find anywhere to top up the gearbox. on an older A4 there was a short filler tube with a plastic cover on which I could use a hose & funnel to refill but this does not exist on my new vehicle. Even a sealed for life transmission must be possible to be replenished.I can see a drain plug(?) at the rear underside. Ideas please!

The oil is pumped in from underneath through the drain hole using a special filling tool and the level set by using a diagnostic computer to monitor the ATF temp and then drain off any excess at a specific temperature. Yes, you are right in what you are thinking, whatever was wrong with the old method!

Thanks for that. I have removed the plug(17mm hex very tight) & oil did run out .Have driven car & changes up & down okay but I think a check needed by local specialist.
