i went chasing the free hire car today with my lease co. after initially telling me a few weeks ago that they couldnt do it they have now confirmed that up till last tuesday/wednesday VW were supplying the cars, but have now suspended giving them out pending a meeting tomorrow.
I am only just at 16 weeks, so who knows whne i might see this car.
I am getting more and more ****** off tbh. If it wasnt such a great deal, i would have cancelled by now!!
will post more if i hear anything

Just got an update about my order placed at the start of September (2010 that is, we may need to start including the years in our order dates the speed this saga is moving).
"The current status of your order is:
Status V
Status P – awaiting allocation
Status V – allocation assigned
Status 00 – Assigned to factory no production week scheduled
Status 10 – Factory ordered with production week
Status 20 – factory ordered with confirmed build week
This means that your vehicle is still awaiting a build week.
VW are currently looking at providing Free support cars for customers, however we are awaiting confirmation of this and will know more details in the New Year. We will give you a further update week commencing 10th Jan, when we should hopefully have a build week for you, and should have further confirmation of the Support vehicles situation."
Yay............
Happy new year all!

That's a long time and still no build date, although I've had 3 build dates and none have been correct so far.Last call from VW CS said I'd get a replacement for the VW Fox and an update on my order later this week so we'll see what materialises.

Cannot believe some aug/sep orders have not been allocated build weeks.
My dealer got the order sep 8, but Germany did not accept until 1oct (dealer had no allocation left)
Mine SHOULD go into production this week.

Well, I ordered my car towards the end of September and at the begining of Dec, the dealers were suggesting a due date of early January. I'll be interested to find out how that has changed before I take your advice and start screaming/shouting at VW. :)

ar5e and elbow are the phrases that spring to mind. VW dont seem to know whats going on with their own production system ... its a surprise anything gets built correctly judging by this.

Totally frustrated now. Was told by both my lease company and VW dealer to expect my relief car today/tomorrow.
Pushed the dealer today who explained they were just sending the request through to VW.
30 mins later call back from dealer to say they'd made a mistake and I'm not eligible until the 11th. I've released the car I've been hiring myself due to expecting to get my Europcar this week. Now have the inconvenience of going back to hire a car for a further week with associated hassle etc due to both my dealer and lease company being unable to use a calendar properly!
Very grumpy indeed.

Well, just got off the phone from the lease company ..... My car was ordered on 16 September 2010, not 22 as I originally thought. Anyway, it's not even been allocated a build week yet ...
I was also told that they dont do a solid black colour any more so I was told it was going to be a solid grey colour instead ..... I politely but forcefully told them that if they supplied me with a grey car I would reject it on deliver (probably wouldnt but I orderd a black car ..... so thats waht I should get). So, they've apparently agreed to supply me with the pearescent black instead FOC. I should think so too.

Got this from my lease company today........ Not a happy chappy, not happy at all!!!!!:zx11:
VW have advised that they are still waiting build dates on all orders, as I have already advised due to the high demand of the VW Passat it has caused lengthy delays.
I can assure you that all orders placed through First Call Leasing have been accepted by VW (I believe some orders have been rejected!!!) and order numbers issued. The only confirmation I have received so far is that the vehicles will be and have to be delivered in the Quarter 1 (Jan / Feb / March) period. I am hoping they will be before March however I appreciate some people will now prefer to wait for the new registration.
All though VW have told me on several occasions that a hire car will not be available I am currently waiting to see if this is still the case as it has been bought to my attention that other customers have received one after a certain length of time. Although I can not promise anything at this moment I am doing my best to work towards a positive outcome.

Both your stories ring exactly true with me.
I ordred mine at the start of Spetember, and although i have been told that my order has been accepted i have no build date, but have been told it should be done by end Feb (i am assuming delivery some time in March).
i also ordrered the black clour, but they told me i could have the pearl black FOC (i actually changed it to the pearl gray cos i actually liked that but didnt want to pay for it :beerchug:).
I too was originally told that VW wouldnt give a FOC hire car as it was a lease deal, but seeing that others on here have been supplied with them when leasing i pressed by lease guy and got the message the vw had now suspended giving out lease cars pending a decsion on how to gop forwrd with that just before xmas
To be honest - its a lease car and i couldnt give a stuff what its reg number is - the thought of it being into April when i ordered in at the start of September is doing my head in :aargh4:.
About to get on to my lease co again as they are just iopen again after the holidays - will let you know how i get on.

Hi and Happy New Year to you All,
I have been reading this site for awhile now. I too am in the same boat as the rest of you. My company place the order of CC GT at the end of Sept, & still no news. Though for me I have the previous company car extended until the CC arrives.
I've been reading through other posts on PassatWorld and MyTREg, they too have seen extreme delays on their orders, and they've been told of many different excuses too of why the car is still awaiting parts, solid black paint no longer available, sat nav, ect, ect.
It is a waiting game, I hate it, but hope to have some sort of news in the next few weeks.:( (He says!! but not counting on it!)

VWparly,
Be warned, in December I was told to expect the car in January and now January is here, I'm being told to expect in Feb/March. I'm tempted to sack it off and order something else for fear of the delay being extended even further. I'm the same as you, I couldnt care less about the new reg plate ... I just want the car ASAP. I just cant understand how they could realistically give you an ETA of November, only for that to be put back by three months. How on earth can it take that long :aargh4: ... I'm megga frustrated with VW. If they had told me of the delays up front, I could have decided to wait or go elswhere .....

Theres a passatt forum (passatworld?) where i was reading some persons theory that VW have almost thrown the towel in and if you dont have a conformed build date you wont be seeing your car. Something about an offer of a specced up passatt. I know these things fly round forums, but you cant help but wonder with the way things are going.:1zhelp:

I have to say tho, I went down to my local VW dealership at the weekend and they had two spanking new (2011 spec) Passat CC's on the forecort waiting to be collected so they are coming through, just somewhat slowly. I suspect with the introduction of the changd spec, there have been some teething problems that needed to be overcome .... hopefully they will start churning them out a bit faster now.

It makes me think something is going on they dont want me to know about. I spoke to the Lease company again today ... still no change from the build date of 'some time in March for delivery in April' :zx11: By the sounds of it, I'm not missing much by not talking to (or being ignored by) the deal directly
Although, in fairness, the VW dealership are now supposedly arranging a relief/hire car for me in the interim. My order was placed 16 September 2010 which by my calculations makes 5 January the magic 'Week 16'. So lets just see what they offer ... I can just see a Fox with my name on it ;)
To be honest, I dont really want a hire car ... but I figure if they are having to pay for it then they are more likely to build my car in prefernce to someone who has not taken/is not aware of the hire car option.

Just spoken with the dealer after waiting for a few days for a call back. My Car has a provisional build week of 11 which is 14th March delivery 3-4 weeks after.
Apparently one of the big problems with the CC has been that dealers have massivly ordered cars over and above their allowance of 100 cars per month. Its these over orders which will not be honored by VW and customers will be informed. Luckily it looks like my dealer was sensible which makes a change!
As for the support car, they have no news but are expecting a statement from VW very soon as to the status. I am due a car on 31st January so will just have to wait and see!

Quick question on the badges... is there a Bluemotion badge on the front grille too? and did you opt for the model deletion option? (waswondering if these leave the bluemotion badge on even if the model is not applied.

No options - the car is a standard 170 GT DSG - The Bluemotion badge is only on the bootlid.

Glad you guys have actually taken delivery - it makes me feel better knwoing some have made it to teh country.
Have made some progress today, but still no build date. At last though i have had it confirmed i am due a hire car. This may be a change to practice, but they have told me i wont get it till the build date is confirmed. Hopefully this wont be too long given the order was accepted at the factory on 30th October (even though the car was ordered at the start of September!)
Anyone else have a factory acceptance around that date?
have a good weekend in your new cars guys! :beerchug:

Footwell lights are on when headlights are on. Thy stay one while you drive Can be dimmed via settings menu.
Door trim lights are strips of led that downlight onto arm rest area, they are adjusted via dial on the dash that also controls dial brightness. Not as effective as on my A6, but look pretty cool.
There are also two red led downlights in roof panel above centre console. Not sure if these are standard or part of ambient pack.

Hi all, been following this thread for a while as I see the Passat CC fiasco unroll as I wait for mine.
Ordered 21st Sep and told 12 weeks, would have it by Christmas.
Informed in November it would be late but would get a support car from mid Jan at no cost so decided not to cancel. (my error)
Received support "car" today. A VW Sharan people mover. Was told it would be a Passat or equivalent by Europcar this morning but this is what they brought. When I complained I was told they had to give me a VW product and that was all they had. They also told me it was classed as a car. Told to take it or leave it.
Wife will not drive it, and why on earth a big van with windows is the same as a 4 door coupé beats me.
Still no firm date for my CC. Have bought new Audi and Skoda in the last few years, this will be my last VAG product as I object to be taken as a mug.
Lovely product, terrible way of business. :(

Just had a response from dealer on my car. The second paragraph will make you laugh! I enquired about the coutesy car and Im told I am able to have a courtesy car 2 weeks after I get my CC. I questioned this with them and they said it was correct incase my order slips! So it looks like VW have changed the goal posts again on Courtesy cars as my 16weeks was up on 29th January.
There’s no change from last time we spoke, unfortunately. The estimated build week is still 11 (which is week commencing Monday 14th March) for a mid April delivery.
With regards to courtesy cars, it gets a bit messy but long story short, due to the massive demand for this model, Volkswagen have opened up a lot more build slots and are building them quicker, but as a result they are taking another look at when customers are due courtesy cars, if at all. At this stage we are still awaiting confirmation from Volkswagen as to the exact date of your courtesy car eligibility date. As it stands, you are looking at 26th April 2011, but this could change.

Don't really understand why mine is here quicker than those that ordered before me, the lease company told me it was pre-ordered and they would fill in my colour and options to the already existing order but I never really believed them, now I wonder if this really was the case all along?

It's a long story - but- ordered on 8th July,4 weeks later given build week 44,then changed to week 45 ( great-get the updates) then went to week 48 and unfortunately original VW salesman moves on and new salesman tries to add folding mirrors,he thinks they've been left off the order.Factory rejects the order and hey presto I'm now provisional week 7.Now as from today confirmed week 8.
Whether the above is true or not I don't know, what is true is that I will have waited about 36 weeks for my CC.(Private purchase, not lease)

Since 1990 my cars have been VW-VW-BMW-BMW-Merc-Merc-Audi-Audi the two VWs were off the shelf both BMW were 3 months + delivery, the Mercs were off the shelf and the last Audi TT was 6 months delivery.Whilst I've been waiting ages for my CC I've trawled the net recently for even a second hand BMW Audi or Merc for CC money but nothing comes close. The more I look at the the others the more I realise how different in every way the CC is and how much more I actually like everything about it.(Damn, I must be in love)
I only hope that the CC is as trouble free as all my previous cars have been,ie more service visits than warranty visits.I know that when I leave the dealership with my CC it'll be the first time for ages that I won't feel as if I've been mugged by a car dealer.:D

I placed my order on the 3rd of Sept 2010, Lease company placed the order with the dealership on the 6th September 2010 and believe it or not the order was accepted by the factory last week:zx11:! naturally when I was informed of VW's ever so slight oversight I kindly and politely (ish) asked them to confirm a build week, hey presto I return home from work and find an email stating my build week.

I think the different problems with build dates is all down to dealer allocation.VW have a fixed quota of CC's into the UK.Each dealer gets a share of that supply depending on it's size etc.So if a dealer has a monthly allocation of say 20 then if they take 30 orders in a September then 10 of those automatically get put forward to October's allocation which means they now only have 10 slots available for October and so you get the long waiting lists. The dealer can't put an order in to VW if he's used all his slots and so no build date can be given.I assume that lease companies use a number of dealers and probably shop around to see who has any slots left. The worst of it is if lease companies and dealers take too many orders with only a fixed number of units available you end up with the current fiasco and wide variations in order acceptance and build dates.

No consolation to CC buyers but,a friend of mine ordered a CC for himself, and his son ordered a Scirocco back at the end of August 2010.The CC was delivered on the 24th January but the Scirocco is yet to be allocated a build week.So Scirocco buyers are having similar problems.

I just joined the VW Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/VolkswagenUK?v=app_6009294086
which includes the following regarding delivery delays ...
"Once your order is placed in the system, you have an order number, your order is price protected. This means that you will pay the price agreed with your retailer at the time of placing the order. Cars placed on the wait list are not price protected. This is when a retailer has no allocation of cars within the next three months, and the order remains on the 'wait list' until allocation becomes available."
That may explain why some are price protected and others apparenly arent.

I would take a large dose of salt with that. I was told today that my car will be built in March .... and I ordered my one on 16 September :(
Ordered 2nd week of October and had a call from dealers today to say car is at Grimsby docks awaiting to be brought to the dealership.
It needs to get to dealership then will be registered first week march for collection.
Ordered 2nd week of October so god knows how it's gone so quick :beerchug:

It would appear that VW are being well crafty these days. Its looks like you only get a Support car once you have a "Confirmed" build week. It looks like most cars are actually now being built without the so called confirmed week but are being built by the estimated week. This way they dont have to give any cars out.
Just one more reason to add to the long list of reasons never to buy from VAG again.

Johnny, I still don't have a build week but have been given a lease car to use until my car arrives. I would point out that I did escalate my complaint to the head of vw UK, which seemed to speed the responses to my complaints, but haven't helped with getting my car built any quicker.

Called in to my local VW garage today thinking that I'd have a look at the new dashboard in the flesh, and to remind myself what the CC was actually like.Went to their new car compound where all the 11 plate March 1st cars were all parked and there wasn't a CC in sight.Plenty of Golfs,Polos,Beetle and quite a few new style Passats but no CCs.Then had a look in the showroom and taking pride of place a Grey 140GT Dsg - fully loaded with Dynaudio,Pano Roof, xenons and Air con seats and 19" Lagunas stickered up at £32500,bit over the top, but if you want all the options.
Had a good look round, sat in the front, back and passengers seat, opened the boot etc and realised it was an even better car than I remembered.Only the view out of the rear window really bothered me,can't see very much and the tinted glass made it a bit dark in the back, hopefully the cornsilk will brighten it up a little.Only problem now is that I'm even more frustrated having to wait for my car to be delivered.
Spoke to one of the salesmen and he reckons he could sell every CC he can get his hands on,which unfortunately are few and far between.

Richard, if I recall correctly, Benway is going through a lease company the same as I am so Used cars may not be an option.
I'm sure the XF is a fantastic car but for those of us with restrictions (mainly budget) defined by their employer/lease companys, it doesnt even feature on the shortlist. If I'd have been given more funds to play with, the Jag XF and the Merc C250 sport would definately have been on my short list. I would love a fast RWD car!

I believe it was Scooby that mentioned Used cars, therefore, I merely suggested the XF if that was the market that anyone was interested in.
A quick look on the Jag & VW websites suggest a £2k difference, and there's always deals to be had.

Sorry folks,I keep forgetting a lot of you get company cars,I have to fork out my own money.I did consider the XF,and be able to stump up for it,as well as a C" class a BMW 3 or an Audi A4 but I must be getting older or wiser or both because none of them are worth £8 - £15k more than a CC and the CC looks £8 - £15k better than any of them.OK I've always been a bit of a badge snob but I don't have a problem with it saying VW on the back.

Sorry, I was not having a go at you (Or Scooby for that matter), I was just saying that some of us dont have the option to look at the used market. Believe me, it would work out better for me on tax, less salary sacrifice and I could choose a petrol vehicle if I could use my own car rather than a company lease vehicle. But it is what it is.

Was told last week it would take a day or two,and dealer said today that it was looking good for the end of the week.To avoid any delays,if it's a private purchase,I normally pay using a debit card,no cheques to clear, and take out the VW 7 day free insurance so there's also no waiting for a cover note for the dealer to tax the car.If you've got a private plate on your old car it's best to put it on retention a month before your new car's due and just get the new one with the up to date plate, you can transfer the private plate over when you want then.Aviods any delay with the DVLA in swopping plates.

Hi all - a little off topic....
I'm in Berlin this week on Business and in the days I've been here I've not seen one CC.. plenty of VW (Golf and Passats everywhere), BMW, Merc, Audi, etc etc ... but not one CC.
One reason I chose the CC was because there were not many on the road, so for me, it's a company car that isn't everywhere.. but I did expect to see a few here.

Same info as everyone else on the next steps.. from Grimsby to deal will be circa 3-5 days so it's been estimated as a w/c 04/04 for my pickup... the week I'm due to be be back in Germany ... double :(
So the two ships I knew about were the Main Highway and Isar Highway (Both are in/or en route to Malmo so it's not them). As for my first impressions ...... simply superb to drive .... lovely & smooth. The start/stop and auto-hold work well and I'm already hitting economy figures of 50mpg despite no motorway journeys so far (still less tham 100 miles on it!!)

Looks great and glad you are chuffed. The economy figures sound good. I'm looking forward to not having to subsidise my mileage expenses when I move from the GTi to the CC :beerchug:
I'm sure this is on some of the other threads but I'll ask as you posted a picture... the MDI with your iphone (I'm assuming it's a 3G/3GS) - does it charge it too?
Thx /D

haha ... ;)
Just tried it and it does indeed charge the phone (a 3GS) However, the phone displayed a message saying something along the lines of "this 'accessory is not optimised for use with the iphone and them may be some call interference" .... something along those lines anyway.

Many thx for checking. Hopefully any interference will be minimal. In 48 hours I'll be running some tests ;)

Hartry, I'll definitely be over at some point for a little re-programming with the 'nasa tool'. Do you know much about the interface between the MFD and the RNS315? The reason I ask is that the test car I had was fitted with an RNS310 and when I sunced my phone to it, the phone book could be displayed in the MFD and you could select numbers etc and make calls using the buttons on the steering wheel. I cant seem to do that on my new car and I wonder if it's simply not been programmed correctly.

Got the car at last then,Greg. How long did it take to get the grin off your face after picking it up ?? Be honest and tell us how long did you spend sitting in it after you got it into your garage. If you just parked it on the drive did the neighbours call the police to tell them them somebody was trapped in the car.:D

Scooby, I'm still grinning now!
Infact, I'm sat at my desk trying to find jobs to do that require a long distance drive!
As for when I got home, the car lives on the drive as my garage is just too full of junk. Even if it wasnt, my wife seems to think her Focus ST should live in there rather than my car. :1zhelp:
I think my neighbours thought I'd lost the plot last night as I spent ages trying to work out how the keyless system functions (does it auto-lock or not, how close do the keys need to be etc etc ...). I still need to test whether it's possible to lock your keys in the car or not. And another thing, the owners manual is huge and yet rather un-informative. I mean, theres a section call seatbelts and the laws of physics? Some of the illustrations for that section are quite funny, but even so is there really any need?

It's because the 315 has a built in Bluetooth module rather than the separate module under the passenger seat, and it doesn't work via the MFD any more. Pants, isn't it? I still have one of the 'proper' Bluetooth modules I bought off ebay for when I had a Golf for 6 months, but I know if I take the dash apart to install it, once I put it back together it will rattle and never be the same again, so in two minds as to whether to install it or not. If I do I can just disable the internal Bluetooth on the 315 with VCDS - I already tested that and it works.

So is that why the phone button on the wheel doesnt seem to do anything either? If so then that really is pants. It looks like I may have to search for a bluetooth module myself before tinkering with the VCDS :)

It's like "War & Peace".There are so many different options etc etc,
The 12 way electric seat option allows you to program the exterior mirror position in conjunction with the memory seats, soon gave up on trying to sort that out.

That's right, it does allow you to answer an incoming call or end a call though.

Like this? ;) - I think this is saying don't put a big cat or hammer in the car otherwise you'll have a rubix cube in a circular maze sometime last century covered in coloured balloons.... which I guess means, put your seatbelt on everytime otherwise you will bump your head  cor these Germans are clever.
