Hello everyone. I'm a newbie to audi (cough cough bmw owner here) but as I said in the intro section, I've recently bought a B6 A4 3.0 Avant Quattro Sport.

I've been trying to fit a bluetooth kit but I cannot get this radio out :zx11:

I have the correct audi flat pins and the right hand side released straight away, however the left side is stuck fast, seemingly no amount of fiddling or prising is going to work. I've now gone and damaged the heater control panel by wedging a screwdriver between it and radio... I could have cried! :-(

Can someone tell me where the release catches are on these radios as the do not appear to be at the sides of the unit.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! :approve:

Whenever I have removed the stock radio, I pull out the a/c heater control unit and that lets you get hold of the radio from below. It seems to come out quite easily, at least without use of any tools.
Best of luck

Thanks for the reply but does the heater controls definitely just pull out? Are they not secured in place by any screws?

Mine seemed not to be. Just a bit of judicious wiggling and pulling with the fingers gripping from below seems to work.
After that is removed, you can grip the radio easily and wiggle it free also using the removal tools to bend the restraints as necessary.
Good luck.

Ac controls are just pushed in, but usually you'd remove the radio first so you can push the ac unit out from the back!!

There is usually a strip of aluminium? running across the bottom of the A/C head unit. I pull the A/C unit out by sticking my fingernails behind this strip of metal (on the bottom) and pulling. Always works for me.
