Ash trays - can they be replaced?

I can't believe cars still have ash trays. Dopes anyone know if they can be replaced with small storage compartments or something similar?

I was wondering this as well.
I recently went to Germany for the first time, and smoking in public seemed much more prevalent than it is here. We went to the German GP and I was very surprised to see not only tobbaconists amongst the merchandising stalls, but vendors on foot, selling cigarettes from trays around their necks like ice cream sellers at a cinema.
I presume the Germans like to smoke in their cars as well.
