I'm looking at doing my retrofit of cruise and DIS
On an old post there was reference to vagparts.com but they no longer seem to exist, unless that it the address was wrong in the first place.
Any good options other than main dealers?

See if you have a TPS outlet near you. They supply genuine VAG parts, although i don't know if they are any cheaper than the main dealers.
There are some people of Fleabay selling genuine parts too.

No they don't. I contacted my local outlet recently to check this and they said the supply the general public too.

It seems to vary from TPS to TPS and with the person answering the phone!

That's strange? I called TPS based in Bristol, and was told they only serve traders.

they will serve public but they probably wont give you the parts at a discount.
so it will technically be the same as buying from audi

Very odd. TPS in Milton Keynes will supply public, but you are both right - No discount.

i get discount at TPS plymouth and delivered, all they do is put the garage i work for on the ticket, but send the parts out on a COD simples :D:D

they are only meant to sell to the trade, but most parts workers will book the parts out as staff, so thats how they get round it from what ive been told

Why doesn't one of the forum operators page out to TPS and see if they'll grant us as forum members trade rates? Surely with an expanded audience of the size we are they'd leap at the chance of plenty more business??

TBH i dont think they would go for that, we dont pay a membership fee, so on the face of it anyone could sign up post once then get trade discount, also TPS work on the discount of a set amount and the more you spend in a month or time changes the amount of discount you get
i think the only chance vwaudiforum has of getting a TPS account is if there was a membership scheme whereby you have a membership card with an exp date and if youm dont renew you dont get a discount, on astramk2.com we have a trade discount scheme, any member can walk in to any vauxhall parts depo, show there card and get the discount, TBH it is a really good set up, if we could get something similar for TPS it would be worth a membership fee,
mods take note lol

I'd pay an annual fee to get genuine parts for the right price :-)
So that's two of us!

on astramk2 it was £15 for 12 months (you got a c/card with exp on it, key ring, car sticker and discount at other outlets) also there was a section that was a members only (like are 100+ club) i get full discount thro work, but id still pay a membership fee

Isn't TPS in someway owned by VAG? There's about as much chance of them giving us bunch of desperados a discount as there is me getting a Bugatti Veryon Super Sport for Chirstmas (I have written to Santa and been a good boy this year though).
