boot lock issue

First of all i would like to say hi to you all, this is my first time on here so hi!!!

I would like to ask a question and hope that someone could help me.

I have just purchased a 1994 gold cabriolet aventgarde, this car has had an engine upgrade to a vr6. There are a couple of mods made on the car, along with this the boot has been de-locked. When i got home, i suddenly discovered that i could get in the boot, and i couldnt drop rear seat to get in boot because seat release is in the boot!!!!. To cut a long story short i had to abuse the rear seat to remove so i could get in the boot. There is some wire attached to the boot lock to pull to open which isn,t any good when seat is on. What i want to know is, is there any easy way to create something which i could use for boot opening, i noticed when removing the boot lock that there is an electrical plug with two spades and in the boot hanging around is a plug lead with two connectors, unfortunately they don,t mate together. if i put power to the lock via a switch will it open that way???? Any help on this will be much appreciated and help with the head scratching
