View Full Version : Please Help HELP with ipod lead

as title my ipod lead arrived today and it wont fit, i think its the wrong one:zx11: the blue connector wont fit my quadlock, the plug has 3 rows but on the back of the radio it only has 2 rows, can someone help please

**** it **** it **** it, its the wrong lead, i took the OH is radio out and her's is a different plug, but on the up side i have managed to find a genuine nav CD for mine :biglaugh: thing is my cars in bits and i cant be bothered to put it back together, im gonna see if i can get the right lead tomorrow and fit it

Phil, the connection for the MFD2 and RCD300 are the same so the lead is the same. are you sure Rachels car is different or is it just the lead?

if you have not got it sorted before the remap day, then i have something that you can have, phil. Its a genuine ipod dock out my audi as i have no use for it.

Hi Rob, as you have said mine and rachels are the same but the lead ive been sent is totally different to the one in rachels, hers has 2 rows of 6 pins mine has 3 rows:( thing is they have sent the wrong one as i reread the info on the lead and they state 2 rows of 6 pins, so will have to wait and see what whey come back with, shame my radios out as is my centre consol.....will put it back together tomorrow :(

here is my problem, the blue connector should be 2 rows of 6 pins :confused:

no problem phil. It needs wiring in to an earth point to work. I take it you don't have the cd changer in the arm rest. This ipod lead will go in to the glove box and will use the plug socket that the cd changer would ordinarily occupy.

why don't you just fit a multimedia adapter to the mfd2 instead, then you could play video also.

My Armrest dock's ok,but my iPhone is a tight fit....so no use I would go for the glove box method next time ;)

i like the sound of that, tell me more, where can i get one how much are they? and is it hard to fit?

i thought you may ask.

ebay item 280551372485 will need wiring to earth and SWITCHED live. If there is a 3rd wire, this is optional. It can be wired to a switched live but this wire must have a manual switch in it as it overrides the picture in motion which is automatically disabled by canbus at +5mph.
