I have been given two answers for correct ATF for my A6 Quattro 2.7TDi Tiptronic by parts departments of two different main agents, as follows:

- Part # G 052 180 A2 at £12.35/litre

- Part # G 060 162 A2 at £31.04/litre

The first price is high enough, the second is unbelievable. Can anyone with some knowledge give me any idea what it could be about the second that justifies a price 2.5 x the first.

Is there really a difference between them or is it just a pricing mechanism to screw more out of unuspecting owners?

When I had the oil changed in my '99 Tiptronic, the specialist independent charged me more than £100 (I think) for the oil, which isn't far off your second price.

I wouldn't try and cut corners on that oil. Get a third opinion if you're not satisfied with the answers so far. :)

I'm told 9 litres. At £31.04 that's £270. At £12.35 = £111. Big difference.

Ahh. Apologies. I thought the 'box took about 5 litres.

Contact Indie Tech, who I'm sure will be able to tell you the correct part No. for the fluid.
