knocking sound A4 avant turbo sport

Hi all, I have a knocking sound on my P reg A4 turbo sport. It started yesterday and is already steadily becoming worse, seems to be front end and occurs whilst driving (not whilst idle) and moreso steering right. The noise reduces or stops when accelerating but is ever present otherwise after the first minute or so of driving. I have a few suspisions but many heads better than one! Any ideas guys? Could be CV joint.

Go to carpark and lock car fully right and drive in circles.. should rule it out from there

Thanks for that mate, on going to inspect that and the wheel bearings I found the sodding wheel nuts were loose! Problem solved and no costs, weh hey, but I'm gonna buy new nuts anyhow, who knows how much they were weakened in two days of driving...
