Hi all,
I wonder if any of you could kindly help me out.
I have an Audi 08 reg A3 Sport 1.6 Petrol and I've started to notice a high pitched whining coming from the front left hand side of the car. I went out to do some testing this morning to find out what conditions it happens under. I found that it sounds the worst when coasting downhill in 1st or 2nd gear (with clutch depressed). When I put it into neutral (still coasting downhill) the sound goes away.
The sound is also present when in 1st or second and the clutch is engaged.
I've googled it and found some posts about the pilot bearing... could this be at fault? I'm taking it in to audi this week but would like to have some idea of what the problem is before i do that!
