Hi All,
I have a MK3 golf GTI 8v.
The car has been sitting over the summer, was OK pre storage period, but now there is a whirring / grinding noise when driving.
This only happens if you are in gear and free-wheeling or coasting. If you press the clutch or accelerate the noise disappears not there at idle either.
Any advice welcome, Is it gearbox clutch thrust bearings, clutch does not slip at all, gear selections OK.
