Morning all,
This thread has a shelf life of about 9 hours before my car gets collected (the new one arrives Saturday). The 'delete' option on my Satnav is greyed out and I can't select it. I don't want to get rid of the car with a load of private addresses in the system. Any idea how to delete them all?

Thanks!

I don't know what car or satnav option you've got, but on my 2010 DVD-based satnav the contacts are taken from my phone when it connects with Bluetooth. If the phone isn't available then neither is the directory of contacts. When you've tried deleting the addresses has your phone been connected to the car? If so, try moving your phone out of range so that the car loses the connection and then see which addresses remain visible.

This may be irrelevant to your situation but I thought I'd mention it. Hope it helps.

Thanks SiliconS, what a shocking lack of useful detail there was in my post! It's a 2008 MMI but without the phone prep so all the addresses are stored (I presume) in direct relation to the satnav. I've stumped 2 people at Audi this morning, fingers crossed for 3rd time lucky....

Have a look in Nav settings.

Hi,

In my HDD nav, the process for deleting addresses is as follows:

1. Press the NAME button
2. Scroll down to the saved destination you want to delete and click on it.
3. Scroll down to the 'Delete Entry' option and click on it.
4. When asked "Really?" scroll up to "Yes" and click on it.

Not sure whether this is the process you have tried, or even if it's the same in your 2008 system, but thought it might be worth posting just in case.

Cheers!

MF.

All sorted now chaps, thanks. In the 2010 option apparently the delete is on the Satnav menu list, on my it's greyed out. I got half way to the dealer and thought I'd try the phone list and voila, there was the delete option in all its glory.

Sigh. Having spent a decent proportion of yesterday cleaning it, a couple of birds have marked it for its send off.....
