I have the A6 2003 model 2.5TDI, auto CVT
I love it, 1st ever Audi and I like it alot. The front dashboard cup holder works but the front facia is missing.
I did consider fitting a couple of powered USB slots in that location becasue both my phone and satnave use USB for power, but then I had a better idea, and this is where I may need some assistance.
My sat nav is not a huge one, its reliable and works great, also its a flat screen one, to my amazement it would slide perfectly into this cup holder slot.
What I want to do is make use of the main cup holder framework, the bit that slids in and out, but have my sat nav on it instead (obviousley get the facia as well.
When its not being used it will be invisible to anyone.
The idea would be you push the facia and the mechanism for the cup holder slides out, the sat nav would simply be locked into place flat, I then could simply un-clip it from its base, and slot it into a couple of up-right brackets to hold it in place (these would be no higher than the facia of course.
Then I want to be able to swivel it a little so I can see it clearly when driving.
When done I simply un-clip it again, lay it flat in the holder and shut it.
Any thoughts?
Anyone know the best place to start looking for something that can do this. I did think with a small dremel or something I could cut plastics to do this, some clean strong glue fixing may provide the needed suports, its not heavy so it wont have to take a great deal of stress?
