Hi Everyone

I have a 2002 A6 estate, engine code AVF.

I've recently suffered from the common problem of water in the passenger side footwell - front and back. After searching this forum I've cleaned out the drain holes under the battery and the floor is now pretty much dry. The only problem is that the indicators now remain on constantly and the radio is not working.

Do I just need to wait a bit longer for everything to dry out for the indicators to fix themselves, or is there likely to be a bigger problem?

Any ideas about the radio?

Thanks for your help.

If you have read the forum on the Plenum Chamber then you should know you have to list the carpets and dry out the floor. Remove the CCM form the electronics box and dry it out. Inspect cable harnesses for corrosion and all connectors. To lift the carpet remove the kick panel and the sill trim and ease the carpet up anprop it up with blocks of wood and use a fan heater carefully for at least a day if not a few hours the next day, remember the rear is wet as well so it needs lifting and drying out. You may have a failed flasher unit and thr Radio is a bit of an oddity. Regards Peter

This symptom will take out the CCM box if not dealt with.

It could be a small blockage in your aircon pipe under the front dashboard somewhere. It then dumps all the aircon water into your front footwells, the CCM gets its own private swimming pool and you get a mobile disco as interior lights, hazard warning lights etc randomly start flashing as the CCM unit drowns and dies....

Sort out the blockage, point the water outside of the car and it's back to normal. Only replacing a CCM box isnt cheap, even from a breakers...

Good luck

if i was you id left the carpet (as already said) and take out the CCM, i have in the past been able to dry them out depends how long its been under water, you can remove the outer plastic case carefully and put it infront of a heater for a few hours to dry it out bud
