No Power!!!!!

After having recently getting my smoke and warning lights problem sorted, a new problem has started today. Coming off the motorway onto a roundabout, when I went to accelerate absolutley nothing happened. Luckily there was a layby right beside. I shut the engine off and it revved again, but on the rest of the journey home the accelerator pedal, once pressed, did nothing. I parked up outside my garage and pulled the bonnet- my dad was there and discovered under the EGR was oily. If we manually moved the actuator on the side of the EGR I could get acceleration, but if not the pedal was dead. Any ideas on the cause??????

BTW I am only getting an average of 32 mpg- could this be connected?

I had an A4 Tdi until recently, which had a leaking EGR valve. It was dripping oil onto the manifold, making a smell in the car. Maybe yours has gone as well?
