input shaft clutch plates renewal

Has anyone replaced the clutches in the multitronic gearbox themselves? Is there any reason why it cant be done? The labour involved seems to be the biggest expense in doing the job, I was hoping to reduce the cost of the job by doing it myself. Is this possible.

Believe you need quite a few specialist tools. The cost of buying these is unlikely to save you much over the labour (if you can even find a supplier).

Plus it is a specilaist job if you have never done it before it is unlikely to go well.

I would interested to hear from anyone who has done there own as a diy job.

Not many garages can do this, so not really a diy job.
