This a low millage manual early A6. I have had intermittent starting problems over the last two months.
It cranks over fine but wont start.
Traced to No spark, No "LT" feed to fuel pump relay.
My guess is crank senser? Unless any one out there knows better ????

Assuming the immobiliser is not shutting it down then the sensor may have a low output when cranking. IT you live on a slope of can get a couple of guys to push you to do a bump start you may find she fires up due to the higher cranking speed and that will confirm the sensor is at fault. Apparently A6's are prone to flooding (according to another site I read), it may be this. Try pressing the accelerator to the floor and turning the key for a couple of seconds.
