Hi,

I have some sort of issue with the dual zone climate control my A3. Its an early 8P shape and blow warm air with the air conditioning on and temperature set to low.

I have had the air conditioning system drained, vacuum tested/cleaned and refilled. It hadn't lost any gas and has no leaks, the compressor turns fine but still no cold air.

Just a guess but I would have though if the AUTO function was off the interior temperature sensors would not have any influence on the temperature of vented air. Either way it still blows warm air with it on or off.

I haven't had the chance to get it code read because the garage I had the gas done from had sent his computer away for an update, however I have read that there is a hidden menu on the climate control unit, does anyone know how to access this on my car as the guides I have found do not work for me.

Sorry about the long story, any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, did you get this problem fixed? I have exactly the same symptoms. Audi dealer advised that the compressor is working, but they want to swap it out anyway, which I obviously want to avoid if possible. Thanks

If there aren't any fault codes then its likely the torque protector has come off. Its a metal plate which attaches to the wheel and is designed to slip if the torque gets too much for the compressor in an attempt to protect it. If you pm me your email address ill try send you a picture of mine.

Also look around the bottom tray for any bits, that is where I found mine.

Hi Shahzaib, thanks for the response. I would appreciate a picture if possible. As I'm such a novice I'm not allowed to send a pm. Not sure if it's appropriate to post here but by address is bilseybub at me dotcom. Thanks again.
