not starting

I am new to this site so please forgive me if I am in the wrong area.

I have a 1.8T 02 plate A4 that has been idle for two months. The battery had died but I have now recharged the battery but engine will not start. It will crank over ok but I can smell fuel after about 5 secs of cranking. No fault codes are showing that I am aware of.

Can someone give me any idea of the problem and how to fix it please.

Check you have a spark at the plugs and fuel gettint to the cylinders.
Have you scanned the car for faults ?
Where in Berks are you.

How do I check for spark at plug without 'killing' myself?
I am located near Hook just off M3.

You have fuel but no spark by the sound of it and if nio codes are stored, more than likely it is coil packs but it would be extremely unusual for al four coil packs to fail.
