I have had a good look through the threads and tried some of the suggestions however my A6 Avant Sport 2003 is driving me and the neighbours made due to the intermittent nature of the alarm.
I have read the fault codes and they suggest different codes, there is no one main problem.
Codes experienced are :-
Interior Sensor Fault
Rear Glass Sensor
Glass Sensor
Various Door switch faults
Most show as intermittent earth fault.

I did have a very wet foot well last year but I have removed the Convenience Control Unit and it looks fine, the water did not get in and having checked all the wiring connectors they are as clean as a whistle, so no water ingress and no0 Verdigris to be seen.

Front passenger door does not show as open on the dash when opened, all the others including the tail gate do, so I am not sure if this could generate the faults.

It's the wife's car and she is driving around popping the 20 amp fuse in and out every time she leaves it parked up, just want to get a cost effective fix without letting Audi dealers change every component showing on the fault codes to try and solve the fault and break my bank account, which they have been doing with my A3, but that will be another post.

Anyway if someone has any ideas I would be more than grateful.

The front pass door not showing up in the DIS could be a couple of things:

it could be the micro switch in the door machanism, i had the same from my drivers door. i managed to botch mine to work, turns out the rubber protector had came off and so the swinging lock was not making contact with the switch. the only proper fix is to change the whole door mechanism, or if you can find a scrap one swap the microswitch over.

It could also be the wiring damaged in the door, (which may also tie in with the blown fuses and alarm going off, What fuse is blowing?)
The wires can and ussually break in the rubber sleeve between the car body and the door (in where the hinges are), pull the rubber sleeve off the car body and investigate. if there are any broken wires they can be re-joined, and see what happens

Hi Andy
Thanks for the responses, I may have confused you with the reference to the fuse. The fuse is not blowing, we are just removing the 20amp fuse to silence the alarm, only problem with this is no central locking or electric windows, but at least the car does not go off during the night now.

Ahh miss read you there, sorry,

check the wiring between the doors and car body for all the door switch fault codes you mention, this is the easiest of all the things to do, any short will cause the alarm to go off.
It also could be a CCU fault even though it looks ok, if you can keep clearing and reading codes to see which ones are most common.

It is also possible it could be the back up batteries are gone in the alarm sirin which is in the boot, this causes it to go off in 30 min or so bursts (you could just unplug it for now to stop the noise)

lots to look at, check wiring 1st as this sometimes gives off door switch faults.

It is relatively easy, and more convenient than a fuse, to remove the alarm siren unit from the car.

The other area to check is the bonnet switch wiring, which can easily cause havoc with the alarm system.
